Peter Carmen of Dakota Design has designed the impressive Wave Surfaces showroom in Perth. Staron® Solid Surfaces have been used for the benchtops, sinks, service areas, clad to cabinetry and unique sculptures.
Residential Category Winner: Darren James, Interiors By Darren James
Darren created a kitchen showpiece that is a backdrop to the open-plan living space. Darren used Staron® on the island bench and on the kitchen benchtop that continues into a breakfeast bar. With a beautiful ‘white on white’ colour scheme and a mix of other finishes.
Concept Category Winner: Wilma van Boxtel, Deseos Design
Wilma designed a concept of a seamless long dining table. The surface is one piece from the tabletop and continues to all four legs. The edges of the table continue and form into beautiful curves. The simple beauty of this dining table combines beautifully with any chair design.
Commercial Category Winner: Maria Gavriel & Al Brennan, NOSUCHSTUDIOcollective
NSSc designed new sculptural perimeter signage directly inspired by the brand's existing logo made entirely from Staron® Solid Surfaces in Bright White, which dually doubles as a defined boundary to the space. The logo was created into a three dimensional sculptural form spelling out the 'gallery' part of 'Gallery Cafe' and created a 'drop letter' effect to the 'g' and 'y', as has been done in the company logo.
Made in Australia, the Motif basin begins with the piece of beautiful hand-etched glass. The glass is formed in a kiln creating fall to the waste, then fitted with the thermoformed Staron® surround in Bright White.
Concept Category Winner: Tommy Ashby & Nicholas Gardner
19mm Staron® in Bright White has been used as the tabletop for this one off side table piece. The tabletop itself is 750mm in diameter, and features three victorian ash legs made from recycled timber (old victorian ash fence posts, turned and oiled). These were deliberately made large and rather rustic looking to contrast with the minimalism of the sharp white tabletop.
